Don’t you wish we had a SOFTBALL team at Mills?  Well, we do!  Natalie Spangler is leading a softball club team again this year.  There will be minimal practices, if any at all, so the time commitment will be more than do-able.  In the Fall, we will hold practices once a week and sometimes have the option to play pick-up against other community members in Oakland on Monday nights.  In the Spring, we will be playing in a slow-pitch recreational league right here in Oakland so that we can put our skills to the test every Monday night for about 10 weeks.  For entrance into this league, there will be a $50 fee per person.  But the experience you will get as well as the fun you will have will make it all worth the cost! Equipment and transportation will also be provided for those who need it.

If it has been a while since you’ve played softball or if you have never played at all, Natalie has a few skills under her belt to help you out.  She grew up playing little league softball as a kid, and progressed to play ASA travel ball every weekend.  She was the starting pitcher on the varsity team all four years in high school, and played two years in college receiving first-team all-league honors as a utility player.  Since retiring from fast-pitch in 2001, she now plays recreational slow-pitch a few days a week and likes to have fun!

We hope to see you out there.  Contact Natalie Spangler for details nspangle@mills.edu(510) 430-3323.
