The Mills rowing team ended their fall season with an impressive showing at the Head of the American regatta. The Cyclones entered two boats, a varsity 8+ and a novice 8+ for the final race of the fall.
The Novice 8+ finished 4th out of 14 boats, beating out crews from several DI and DII programs, including Saint Mary's, Sonoma State, and Humboldt State. Their time of 21:20.7 was the fastest finish for the Mills novice boat in six years. Head coach Sara Nevin notes, "this small group has been ambitious and dedicated from the first day, and it is great to see that hard work pay off so directly by beating some really good programs."
The Cyclones will now shift their focus to the off season, as they prepare for spring. The spring season officially begins in February and the Cyclones will get back on the water next at the Sac State Invitational on March 10.
