Mills Soccer Opens Season Against Carroll College

OAKLAND, Calif.  – The Mills College soccer team opened their 2016-17 season against the Saints of Carroll College. Carroll got off to an early start, netting their first goal in the 12th minute. The Mills defense worked hard against consistent pressure, holding the Saints to two goals in the first half, despite 26 shots taken. The defense continued to fight in the second half, allowing three goals on 19 shots. The Saints offense finished the day with 45 shots, 25 on goal. 

Mills first year keeper, Madison Cantrell, had an impressive outing, recording twenty saves in her first collegiate start. Senior Ashley Crespin led the back line, making the Carroll offense work for every goal.

The Cyclones play again next weekend when they travel to Milwaukee to take on Blackburn College.
