With veteran swimmers leading the way, the Mills College Swim team received strong performances from all its members at the Liberal Arts Championships. All ten athletes posted at least one lifetime best swim for a total of 47 best times out of the team's 75 races.
For two swimmers, the meet marked their final competition. Graduate student, Amelia True capped off an impressive season with a Top-Ten swim in the mile, besting her previous time by 17 seconds. Amelia's incredible work ethic and consistency have shown throughout the season, making her a leader for her teammates and coaches. Senior, Jessica Lix finished her career with a very strong showing including a new school record and Top-Ten swims in the 100 and 200 Yard Back. Her 100 Yard Back earned her ninth place overall and first place in the consolation heat, while her 200 Yard Back earned her a spot on the awards podium with an eighth place finish. Jessica's performance highlighted her strength and talent and showcased her hard work.
The meet was a success for the rest of the Cyclones as well. First year, Christine Mumm, sophomore, Francesca Twohy-Haines, and senior, Jessica Lix each posted best times in all of their swims, while first year, Ashley Young and junior, Vivian Earons swam to personal bests in all but one swim. Dani Sherman posted a Top-Ten swim in the 400 IM, bettering her previous time on the list. In the 200 Yard IM, Mara Harwood started her race faster than she had all season, earning a personal best time. Classmate, Sarah O'Neal posted a best time in the 200 Yard Free, while Cahaela Class earned a best time in the 100 Yard Breast.
