Four members of the Mills tennis team travelled to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for the USTA/ITA West Regionals, competing against some of the top tennis players in Division III.
Sophomores, Sophia Wasteneys and Christine Wu represented Mills in Friday's singles play, moving to the consolation round after match one. In her second match, Wasteneys closely battled her opponent after split sets, 7-5 and 4-6, eventually falling 8-10. Wu had a very tough draw, but fought hard, coming back in several games. The two teamed up for doubles play, getting on the board 8-1 and 8-2. They were joined by classmate, Gwendolynn Fernstrom and Roxana Farmer in doubles competition. Fernstrom and Farmer also got on the board, going 8-2 in both of their matches.
The Cyclones continue their fall season when they travel to Stanislaus State for an Invitational on October 23.
